Alanis Morissette è una cantante canadese nata nel 1974 a Ottawa .Il suo debutto risale al 1995, un debutto dovuto alle sue qualità non solo canore ma anche come compositrice pop-rock.
Il brano di cui sopra fa parte del suo album più venduto, intitolato Jagged little pill. Fra le canzoni di Alanis Morisette la più famosa è quasi sicuramente Ironic, che è stato il singolo che ha lanciato la cantante. Io però vi propongo un pezzo molto meno conosciuto che non per questo considero meno piacevole e meno meritevole di attenzioni rispetto appunto ad Ironic. Jagged little pill è tuttora uno degli album più venduti al mondo e non a caso ha valso alla cantante una fama mondiale. Lo stesso album fu candidato a 6 Grammy Award. Dopo tutto questo successo alcuni definirono Alanis Morissette come uno strumento nelle mani delle case discografiche e venne criticato molto aspramente anche il suo cambio d’immagine avvenuto con l’uscita dell’album.
Nonostante tutto Alanis è ancora una cantante in attività con dieci album pubblicati e venti anni di carriera, anche se dal debutto ha conosciuto una continua decadenza.
